The Jewish Federation of the Sacramento Region Welcomes Mariela Socolovsky as New CEO on June 17, 2024

Mariela Socolovsky, Jewish Federation of the Sacramento Region, CEOThe Jewish Federation of the Sacramento Region is thrilled to introduce Mariela Socolovsky as its newest Chief Executive Officer (CEO) after an exhaustive nationwide search. With a strong background in nonprofit leadership, community engagement, and philanthropy, Mariela brings a wealth of experience to her new role.
Having previously served as the Director of Community Engagement at Congregation B’nai B’rith in Santa Barbara, CA, Mariela has proven her ability to cultivate inclusivity and drive growth within communities, evidenced by record membership numbers and strengthened relationships.
“I am deeply honored to step into the CEO role at the Jewish Federation of the Sacramento Region,” said Mariela Socolovsky. “I am dedicated to furthering the Federation’s mission and am eager to collaborate with the team and our community partners to create meaningful impact and foster growth.”
Before her tenure at Congregation B’nai B’rith, Mariela held positions at renowned organizations like the University of Haifa in Israel and the American Jewish Committee in Los Angeles, where she excelled in donor engagement and community outreach.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Mariela Socolovsky as our new CEO,” said Marion Leff, Co-President of the Federation Board. “Her commitment to community building, strategic leadership, and cross-cultural communication skills make her an outstanding addition to our community.”
Mariela Socolovsky holds two Master’s degrees, one in Nonprofit Management from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and another in Education from the University of Haifa in Israel. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Hebrew and brings a unique perspective and profound understanding of diverse communities to her new role.
“We are confident that Mariela’s innovative approach and collaborative spirit will propel our Jewish Federation to unprecedented success,” said Robb Layne, Co-President of the Federation Board. “Her appointment marks an exciting new chapter for our organization, and we eagerly anticipate the journey ahead.”
