In 2012, in response to community feedback, Federation's priority turned to closing the gap in social services and we re-introduced Jewish Family Service (JFS) to our community. Following are resources, services, and available opportunities:
COMMUNITY SOCIAL WORKER
Federation’s part-time Community Social Worker, Rebecca Ray, is available to respond to inquiries related to nutrition, finances, senior services, and family issues. Rebecca conducts home visits as appropriate, provides community resources, and partners with area rabbis to assess congregational and community needs. Rebecca may be reached at 916-205-0688.
KOSHER FOOD PANTRY
Federation accepts donations to its Kosher Food Pantry year-round. Suggested items include pasta/sauce; rice; beans; soup; cereal; oatmeal; granola bars; peanut butter; canned/jarred fruit; soy milk, juice; and paper goods. All goods should be non-perishable and have a kosher symbol. Toiletries as well as ritual and Judaica items are welcome. If you know anyone who is in need of accessing the pantry, please contact our Community Social Worker Rebecca Ray at 916-205-0688.
FACILITATED SUPPORT GROUPS
Federation offers support groups within a Jewish context facilitated by social service professionals. For more information, contact Community Social Worker Rebecca Ray at 916-205-0688.
