Caregiver Support Group

Morning Sessions: 10:00 - 11.30am

October 4 & 18, November 1 & 15, December 6 & 20

Morning and Evening Sessions are open to spouses, family members, and friends who are acting as caregivers for a loved one. The group has an emphasis on those providing care to their aging parents and provides a warm environment in which participants receive support and strategies to address the unique needs and stresses of caregiving. Facilitated by Jane Zeiger, LCSW. Space is limited. $60 for 6 sessions. Congregation Bet Haverim, 1715 Anderson Rd., Davis. A Family of Flutes!

Francesca Anderson has been a performer and teacher in the Bay Area since 1984, and has served as Principal Flute for the Folsom Lake Symphony since 2009. As a gifted interpreter and ambassador for the flute family, Francesca presents a varied program introducing flutes from around the world -- from the silver to the Native American, Irish, and East Indian. Francesca will be accompanied by professional classical guitarist Daniel Roest.

A Jazzy Afternoon!

Featuring Jane Thompson on string bass and Jon Spivack and Ken Billeci on electric guitar, the Jane Thompson Trio is an instrumental jazz combo that draws its inspiration from a variety of musical genres, including jazz, Latin, blues, swing, and pop. Whether it’s Duke Ellington, Burt Bacharach, Henry Mancini, Dave Brubeck, or a host of others, this band always adds its unique stamp of creativity to every piece it plays, and never fails to please.

Shabbat Shalom Sacramento
Volunteer to make Shabbat on a Friday afternoon with Jewish residents at a local senior facility. Federation provides all the fixings - candlesticks, candles, grape juice, challah, etc. You provide companionship and a visit! 3:00-4:00pm. For more information, contact Rikki Kass at

PJ Our Way Interactive Fiction Class with David Poisner

The Jewish Federation, 2130 21st St, Sacramento

Explore new tools and methods for creating Interactive Fiction. Learn how to use innovative software to assist in creating a "Choose Your Own Adventure" style story. This class is for children ages 8-12. Due to limited space, RSVP is required for this event. Fee: $5/child or $8/siblings
