April 23, 2017. Communitywide Commemoration of Yom HaShoah. Featured speaker Fred Rosenbaum is an award-winning author, historian, and adult educator who specializes in the history of the Bay Area Jewish community. Rosenbaum grew up in Queens, New York, in a family that was marked by the Holocaust. His mother fled Poland and escaped to the United States. His father had earlier emigrated from Poland and became a sergeant in the United States Army, and fought in Europe during World War II. Rosenbaum is the Founding Director of Lehrhaus Judaica, the largest school for adult Jewish education in the American West. He is also an adjunct Faculty Member of San Francisco State University, University of San Francisco, College of Alameda, and the Graduate Theological Union. Caregiver Support Group
Morning Session: February 15, March 1, April 5, April 19, May  3, and May 17, 2017. 10:00-11:30am
Evening Session: April 5, April 19, May 3, May 17, June 7, and June 21, 2017. 6:30-8:00pm
Open to spouses, family members, and friends who are acting as caregivers for a loved one. The group has an emphasis on those providing care to their aging parents and provides a warm environment in which participants receive support and strategies to address the unique needs and stresses of caregiving. March 23, 2017. Leisure League at the Albert Einstein Residence Center. “Oldies but goodies” certainly describes this group of vocalists and musicians, as well as the songs they have been  performing for audiences all over the greater Sacramento region since 1972. “You’ve got to get them back again—fast!” is a statement often expressed after another spectacular performance by this all-volunteer, “sing-along” chorus and band. 1935 Wright St., Sacramento.

Sing Along with Alta Gray in Orangevale & Sacramento! 
Alta Gray is a singer/songwriter/guitarist, who discovered her passion for music at the age of 25 and began performing professionally with pop bands in Vancouver, Canada. She went on to play coffee houses in the Bay Area and Sacramento. She knows thousands of songs, and loves taking requests as well as inspiring her listeners to croon, chant, warble, or hum along with her!

Leisure League programs are Noon-2:00pm. $5 includes lunch and entertainment. Leisure League is funded by The Trust Fund for the Jewish Elderly and The Jewish Federation of the Sacramento Region.
